A note from Kalei’s son, Hototo Leilehua. I myself have had the awesome privilege of meeting Pele on “common ground.” The build up to this experience far too much to tell, but those of you who are familiar with such experiences can relate to the progression.

I expected to witness burning violence, similar to what would anticipate from meeting
a living volcano. This was not the case with me. What I experienced was an eternal
warmth that transcended lifetimes, a kinship that was infinitely multidimensional but
so simple and knowledgeable. Pele was my lover. I never told anybody this. She is
not an intimidating volcano, she is a friend who knows and who can show you humility and truth. There is an equality and greatness that exists with her giving. Allow yourself the trust in your greatness and your humility and this will be a very powerful and comforting encounter. She is one of the guiding hearts of this change we are going through. Simply warm.
